    It's an inflorescence. If you don't plan to utilize it you can remove it close to the base. So the plant stops putting so much energy into it

      Meaning if you wanted to collect pollen from it and/or fertilize it for seeds.

    It’s a flower but you won’t be impressed. There may be more to follow. Mine put out five at one time. I cut them off. But it’s your first one so let it go so you can see what it looks like.
