Because of the weather, my poor Emerald Edge aka Alocasia scalprum is dying. It’s pretty much on life support right now. It didn’t help that I transplanted it in “tropical soil”(which already has a little bit of moisture) and put in a LITTLE bit of water in it and became PRACTICALLY waterlogged leading to root rot. Then I had to clean the out, but then with the A/C being on and the humidity practically being sucked out the air it got to the way it is in the picture below. For me and my room, the alocasia scalprum does well. But the care for it like its predecessor alocasia dragon scale is still VERY strict. It MUST be moist, be wary of the soil you give it even when it claims to be for “tropical plants”, if A/C will be used (if an indoor plant) put it under a ziploc bag (WITH holes), and of COURSE be wary of the humidity of your room. I’m already looking to buy a new Alocasia scalprum, but I’m going to miss THIS one and I’m not going to give up on the Alocasia plant species. Just gotta find the right one for me and my room! PS: Yeah I know I have a new leaf TRYING bud, but I don’t think it will make it out on time😢

Aw :( since it had root rot, did you replace the soil?

I recommend amending the potting mix with bark and perlite. With mine, I added a few pebbles. Does your pot have holes in them?
