   Might suggest a south facing window, if not probably best to get a grow light

     Hey Chey….. I have Grow lights in a North facing window during our UK winter and maintain Alocasia growth (new leaves) during this period. Watering in a free draining soil mix once a week. I would recommend the Grow Gang Pianta LED BULBS, if they can provide in the US..?

   Hey Pequeno, good to hear! I am also in UK and just waiting mine again today, checked and it is ready for it. I recently also put under grow lights - how soon should you see the benefits of putting under lights please? I do have a couple of new leaves that just look so sad already 😞

     Hi Julie …. My Jacklin threw out a new leaf after about 3/4 weeks under Grow light conditions, ditto a Anthurium Clarinervium. I have both on a window cill with a 30w Pianta LED in the main pendant … just rigging up a Grow Gang Claria pendant for my Polyscias and a Strelitzia …. I think without the grow lights our winter daylight hrs don’t provide adequate lighting 🫤

   @ Julie B - what soil substrate are you using for your Alocasia’ ? Noticed better health once I re-potted to my own mix rather then the GC / Nursey soil they were purchased in ( not free draining) 😀👌

     Hi, thanks for the reply 😊 yeah, think it was the wrong time of year for me to invest in a bunch of tropical plants! 😁🌵 I think they are in great tropical soil tbh as I bought from "Grow Tropicals" website, not a GC (if that stands for garden centre!?) feels like really decent free draining substrate tbh 🤘🏼 I've purchased more from them and aim to plant up in slightly bigger pots come the spring/summer here 👍🏼 Will just keep under the grow lights for now - am really pleased with my Lukiwan - already have a fab new leaf I felt I saw it growing before my eyes! 😎
