What’s wrong with my baby dragon scale? She’s becoming dry and crunchy on the side of her leaf. She gets bright indirect light and I mist her everyday for humidity. I also only water her when she is dry. She has little new growth and I don’t want it to also become brown and dry. TIA!!!

Did you just recently get it? Baby Alocasias I’ve found don’t travel well and tend to drop their leaves. If it has a good root system and it drops it’s leaves just keep doing what you’re doing, keep the humidity up and let it get dry but not completely between waterings (alocasias don’t like to get completely bone dry) and it should eventually give you new growth. Also make sure the temps are at minimum 65°F but preferably 70°F or so

I did get this baby maybe two weeks ago and I did repot just to see the root system. It had a pretty good established root system, nothing that I was concerned about. I will try to do everything you recommended, thanks!

I would do what they’ve recommended above, but also I would consider getting a humidity dome or a cloche of some sort to help instead of daily misting. I’ve found those to be really beneficial for baby alocasias to help maintain humidity while they’re growing.

mine did the same thing when I first got it! from my experience alocasias throw a big fit when they are new and then after awhile they start thriving! just keep doing what you normally would and you should start to see new growth soon!

It does already have new growth so I will cross my fingers it will do better. Thanks for the help!
