Hello! I am a beginner with Alocasias. I have heard they can be difficult and I have some that are doing well and others that are not doing so well. Anyone have any beginner tips? Photo 1: was given this one with the leaf damaged but it is now putting out a new leaf. Once the new leaf is stronger, I am thinking about cutting the damaged leaf. Photo 2: This one was doing really great but now it is suddenly yellowing in the middle parts of the leaf Photo 3: I bought this one from a box store and when I got hope the leaf ends started curling and getting mushy Photo: this is a baby this is doing fairly well

If you tend to over water plants? I would suggest going to Pon. It very much helps with under/over watering. I let all of my plants (including Alocasia) dry out almost all tue way before I water again; Even the ones in Pon, I let the reservoir dry out. The more light you can get them the more leaves they will be able to sustain; They love super bright indirect light. Some of mine do get some direct light and they are fine. They're very hungry plants; fertilize with each watering. Depending on where you live, the ambient humidity might be enough for them. My humidity is at 35% right now; If it drops that low for more then two days, I turn on the humidifiers. They are much more hardy than we give them credit for in my experience and extremely resilient.

I wouldn't cut the damaged leaf off your first plant. It's so young that you'd be basically getting rid of 1/2 to 1/3 of itself, and all that green that remains on the browned leaf is still useful for photosynthesis so it can push out more leaves. If your plant were much bigger, you could go for it. But considering its size, right now I think it's better to let it do its thing

I’ve rehabbed mine with a grow light and following planta instructions along with repotting it into an aroid mix soil and it completely bounced back
