Okay, give it to me straight; what can I do to fix up this plant? This is my first colocasia and I’m pretty new to plants in general. I purchased it from Home Depot today and this is the condition that it is in. It will eventually move indoors since I don’t live in the right zone to have it outside year round. What can I do to set it up for success now, and what do I do to maintain it in the future? TIA!
Well for what I can see she looks good. Place near bright window but not full sun. It's normal for Elephant Ear plants to shed older leaves as they grow new ones, especially from the bottom of the plant. The two bottom leave just remove those. Inspect the soil moisture, the top soil should be dry before watering. When it’s time to repot make sure to use an organically rich, well-drained soil that retains moisture. Since it’s new look for pest. Keep it warm and Oh high humidity 2 cups warm water • 1 Tablespoon neem oil • 1 Tablespoon Castile soap • 1 teaspoon of isopropyl alcohol (70%)! Mix water, soap, and alcohol first → then slowly add neem oil → shake well.
