Hi everyone, I’ve had this black velvet for just under a year and it has always been in pretty good health until the last few new leaves, I know it’s normal for them to drop old leaves every so often but a pattern has occurred over the past four new leaves, first one came out well and second almost kind of rotted before even beginning to get anywhere near to fully grown. The third leaf came out great and now I’m onto the fourth and it’s rotting from the top down again, any idea why this could be happening? You can somewhat see where the new sprout is slowly decaying.

Can you see the roots through there?

If you mean through the pot then I can see a few yes. It’s very few but I may peel the sticker back now

Mine does this too, but the leaves always end up fine. It could be that the little sleeve they grow in first is browning as it pulls back, before the new leaf slips out. At least that’s been the case for me. Otherwise check for overwatering, proper sun, and if it’s too root bound (though they like to be a little snug)
