Just picked up two baby alocasias!! One has had a restart from being a mother plant and the seller rescued from rot. And the other has been growing from a corm. Any tips for these two babies would be appreciated! I’ve never used semi hydro mix before Going to buy a humidifier tomorrow - debating on a grow light as there’s no where really to put one!!
I’m curious how the semi hydro works for you, I’ve been considering switching some of my plants to semi, but I’m scared lol
0개 좋아요The lady who I bought them off was amazing - she about 100 corms growing. She said she starts them in spagnum moss and then the second they grow roots and start growing a bit of a leaf she said she transfers them straight to semi hydro. And also all of her mature alocasias and monsteras are in it. Apparently it’s saved them massively. It looks really good so far

Silver Dragons refuse to live. So don’t beat yourself up about progress with that one. Baby alocasias are SUPER FUN because you can literally put a clear solo cup over them to create a humidity dome and watch them shoot up within days/weeks. They looooove humidify especially when they’re young and small
