I bought this beautiful Alocasia Frydek var. a month ago and it’s been growing beautifully. I have it in a little green house for moisture. Today I notice this little impostor growing alone with my plant. Does anybody know what could it be? And whether I should keep it or throw away? Tia
Its a Madagascar periwinkle, and are not necessarily harmful to the plant and produce lots of pretty pink flowers.

1 me gustaI’d recommend moving it now actually, into something small like a 2” pot. It has two sets of true leaves so it should have a pretty good root system. If it gets any bigger the roots will tangle with the alocasia and be harder to relocate without damage. Also I don’t know where you are located but periwinkle is considered invasive in lots of places so if it blooms down the road be sure to deadhead it
2 Me gusta Oh wow, since the time that I posted this the plant grew even more. I’ll make sure to take it out now and put it in another pot. I live in the north east region of the United States.
