Okay …. Can these live? … alocasia frydek she was big and dying I took her apart and she has some propagations that are doing better in pon… the little one came off the big one and I don’t know if she’ll live???? Big one has some issues I didn’t have enough pon to transfer her too so I used leca and she started getting root rot this is what’s left of her … will she live??? I’m currently letting her soak in water with a cap full of hydrogen peroxide.. I saw I can do perlite and they like perlite but she has such little roots left… I did find corms .. please help!!!

    I'm sorry to hear that. In regards to leaving it in perlite, try leaving it in a dome or some way to create humidity over the cup. I have yet to try it when taking a plant apart, but it does work for corms very well.

    How’s your progress? My cats pulled my winter dormant Black Velvet out of the soil, there were no roots left when I found it. I put it in water and it’s just barely starting to put out roots but I’m worried The just water method will rot it. Curious how you’re doing with yours!

      They are actually doing good! I actually opted to put them in perlite instead.. and I put them in a self watering pot and let it do its thing. I also put them in plastic container with the lid slightly open to have humidity go up but also airflow. They have started to get roots! Not enough for any leaves but they’re getting a root system now for sure

      I found perlite off of a YouTube channel and it’s working well so far.

    Thanks for the tips!! I think I’ve gotta change things up a bit for mine & hope for the best with the tiny roots it has. 🤞🏻

      I hope it helps out! I think these guys definitely want humidity once I put them in the container it took off.. I just put mine under grow lights and and a small puddle of water to the container and set the lid on top with a crack. I did close it up for a while but I started seeing some white mold forming. Just make sure humidity is up and lots of light .. like 12hrs or so
