Unfortunately, I think that leaf is a goner. But Alocasia are like a phoenix. If you cut the leaf to the top of the corm, it will grow new leaves. As long as your corm is solid, they will usually come back. Even if the top gets soft, you can cut away the bad down to healthy corm, and it will grow. I lost a ton of my Alocasia to spider mites when I was new, and someone shared this with me and I was able to get them all back. I’ll attach a photo of my Tiny Dancer I did this with.

What's a corm? Is that like a bulb? And do you keep watering and caring for the corm? How long does it take to grow back?

abbyalthough I would love to explain the whole process of how corm’s work, there’s some great sources on Google that you can look at that’ll give you all the information you need. ( epicgardening.com ) For the short answer, I grow my corms in a clear plastic container with perlite on the bottom. I bury the corms partially in the perlite and fill up the container with a bit of water, not enough to cover the perlite. I would suggest getting a root growth hormone that you can add to the water to help your corns grow roots, but once the corns have sprouted a new baby leaf, they’re ready to be transplanted to soil or you can leave them in perlite.

Since the corn is alive with healthy roots, should I just care for it as I would a trellis plant? Maybe I'll cover it with a done?
