Any help on what to do about my black velvet leaf hanging? It’s always been like this, but I’ve tried rotating it slight recently haven’t given enough time, but any other suggestions?? It’s still very strong, like it wants to be there, not a wilting feeling. Also, should I be cutting off dry leaves around the stem. I kept its bloom there as well. And how should I keep the corns? There’s 3 Thanks!!

  1. Big Apple Plants

If the plant looses all its leaves don’t panic!! The tubers in Alocasias are pretty strong and good at bouncing back with new growth. When was the last time you watered them? My alocasias wilt a bit when they are thirsty and some water usually resolves it. Don’t remove any dead leaves until they are completely dry/brown. I learned that if you remove yellowing leaves the plant will find another leaf to yellow/brown/wilt. To propagate the corms I would suggest you place them in a closed container with moist sphagnum moss and perlite mix and place in a well lit warm area. Good luck & hope that helps

Hey I watered it that day after adding more soil to support. It’s always been like this but it seems a bit more now. Still very healthy though

Also I’ve found rotating my alocasia doesn’t help it to look nice. I don’t recommend doing this
