My colocasia esculenta with weird variegation. Does anyone know why my elephant ear has a weird variegation on it’s leaves. I don’t mean the yellow edges.

SunnyLooks like overwatering. The stems of these don’t typically require support. I recommend removing the rocks off the soil that could slow the soil from drying out. Check the roots for rotten smelly conditions and clean them, if needed. It may need more fertilizer or brighter light. It may be too far from a window unless there is a skylight above. If not, add grow lights.

I gave it support because it is leaning towards one side too much and I am afraid it would fall over if I didn’t add supports. There is also a root sticking out of one of the drainage, so it could be root bound.

It may be reaching for light if it’s leaning, another reason to get it more light. Pull off the pot to check the roots. Some roots can find the water in the drainage tray and not need repotting. More roots than soil in the pot means it needs a larger pot.

It was leaning like this when it was put right up to a window.

It should grow upwards in a location where a grow light is above it.
