This is the third iteration of this Mask Plant! Got it a couple years ago from a grocery store and it had one little dying leaf. One day that leaf dropped off and I was just getting ready to reuse the pot when I noticed a little plantlet sticking out of the soil. It then thrived for 2 years before getting pests, then blooming, then all the leaves fell off again. Just as I was throwing in the towel one more time, I notice another little plantlet poking out. Now it’s got an open leaf and starts its third life!

    This is one plant that I struggle to keep alive, mine has done the same thing now too!

      Same. I have 2 little leaves now, but I don’t know for how long. It seems like when a new leaf sprouts the older one will die off, then eventually so does the other. Sigh

      I didn’t realize it would cycle like this. How interesting to hear other people with the same experience!

      Yea, I’ve read that they are heavy feeders and need fertilizer more often, I’ve been able to get mine to sustain 3 leaves, but as soon as that 4th one comes out, one dies right on cue 😭
