Can you propagate corms in damp sphagnum moss?

    Yes you can but it’s not my favorite method. I prefer to use perlite. Well I like to use a mix of perlite, pon, & fluval stratum, but perlite alone will work if you don’t have the other two. If you don’t have perlite moss will work, it just has a bigger risk of rot and takes much longer to sprout

      That hasn’t been my experience, and I have grown many different alocasia corms, I also have many different plant friends who also have had the same experience. Because it’s also not just about sprouting the roots it’s about rot, you’re less likely to have any kind of corn rot with perlite

    Yep! That’s how I do mine 😊 mix in some perlite w the moss and I also do slow release fertilizer (just a little bit) once they got roots

    This was the result of my corms in sphagnum. They were left open in a disposable plastic cup, though humidity in my cabinet is above 80%

    Yess I love sphagnum moss for corms I’ve never had a problem with it but I have had rotting issues with perlite
