Couldn't pass up this alocasia with a perfect, pure white leaf. She is STUNNING! This is only my second alocasia so any pro tips on keeping her happy are appreciated!

    Enjoy that leaf while you have it. Because it is pure white and it has no chlorophyll, it will not live long. However, I see the other leaves are mixed green and white, so as long as you keep that allocasia happy, it will give you more leaves. I have one myself.

    Appreciate that leaf! It won’t last as long as other leaves because it lacks chlorophyll. HUMIDITY is a MUST! Alocasias like around 70 to 80% humidity, but 93% exceeds the humidity that is comfortable for them. Frydeks are very prone to spider mites, so keep this stunning baby healthy! If you’re using an oil to treat pests, turn off any grow lights, because the oil + sun can burn the leaves. How much did you get that for? I want to know the price range for variegated alocasias.

    Make sure the green leaf is getting plenty of light (as much as possible without burning it). Making sure the green section has what it needs can help support the less productive variegated parts. Very light plants can also sometimes benefit from being kept in a group planting with darker varieties and some mycellium in the soil, since they can share nutrients via the roots (though that depends on the dark plant cooperating instead of competing with its partner)
