Please help with my baby zebrina. I separated this from the mother plant last summer. I follow.planta schedule but this leaf will mot uncurl. And top soil feels damp. I will show you photo of the baby and the mother plant. The mother plant has lost almost all stems but for one. Thanks.
You need a chunkier soil mix and a well draining pot. The pot the baby is in is too big too. I’d suggest clear plastic pots and use these as cover pots.

0개 좋아요 Everyone has a different recipe for their mix. But basically adding bark, coco chip, charcoal to your soil mix. If I use potting soil, it’s about 10-30% of my soil mix. Your roots want to breathe. The bagged Orchid mix they sell usually has the 3 I mentioned and can be mixed in with potting soil. Those ceramic pots are nicer but they don’t supply enough air for the soil to dry out. Use them as cover pots. I save my take out food containers and buy those 15 or 16oz clear plastic cups from the dollar store and poke holes in them. Saves lots of money. Most plants will establish a root system before they start growths the larger the pot, the longer it takes for them to try and fill the pot. The smaller the pot, the quicker it’ll establish a root system. Sorry for the rant

If you have a local plant store around you; they might presale a “aroid mix” or “chunky mix”. It will be pricier than buying the supplies for yourself, but if you don’t have many plants, it can be a lot to store the ingredients for it. Hope that helps and I hope your plants grows big and tall!
