My little alocasia that my friend gave me as seeds. And then 1 or my 3 leaves died and the newest sprout dried up 😭 Any advice for caring for these beauties?

    Light: • Bright, indirect light is perfect. • Too much direct sun = scorched leaves. • Too little light = slow growth and droopy leaves. Water: • Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. • Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. • Avoid letting it sit in water — they hate “wet feet.” Humidity: • Loves high humidity (60%+). • Mist it regularly, use a pebble tray, or get a humidifier. Temperature: • Prefers 65–80°F (18–27°C). • Protect it from drafts and sudden temperature drops. Soil: • Use a chunky, well-draining mix: Think peat + perlite + orchid bark = happy Alocasia. Feeding: • Feed every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted balanced fertilizer (like 20-20-20). • Hold off in fall/winter when it slows down. Repotting: • Every 1–2 years or when roots are busting out of the pot. • Spring is the best time to repot. Common Issues: • Yellow leaves = Overwatering or low light. • Droopy leaves = Shock (like after moving it) or water stress. • Spider mites love Alocasias — check under leaves often!

      Thank you so much. I’ve done most of these things but I forgot about the higher humidity!

    The babies especially can be very susceptible to drying out. They need fairly regular watering and humidity

      Thank you. I have to remember to keep their humidity higher. I repotted into an old orchid planter and I add pebbles to the bottom.

      Even just misting once a day will do they a solid
