i accidentally plant my alocasia corm upside down! and it looked like this. is it gonna be okay? and should i cover with more soil so that the sprout is not visible from the surface? please help thank you!!

    hey! rotate the corm in the soil so that the stem faces up. it’ll be totally fine. I’ve found sprouts growing like this naturally.

      can it bend up naturally without repositioning it?

      it’s quitw tricky to rotate it like that as the roots are quite long already!

    unfortunately, i haven’t had experience with that. but it will grow straight for a bit before it comes out with a leaf and it looks like it would smash against the pot wall.

      Thanks. I’ve just rotated the nub as you mentioned. Do you think I should add more soil on top of it so that the nub fully covered?

    awesome! more soil wouldn’t hurt. it’ll help increase the chances of more roots growing out of the nub to help the plant thrive. sorry i couldn’t give you the answer you wanted. i’ve been really enjoying growing corms and hope yours grows fast!

    I believe you had it planted correctly the 1st time. I'm no expert, but I've propagated many alocasia's...I've attached a graph that might be helpful.
