I have had a Mickey Mouse for about a month now. Twice it has put out a new leaf, but the oldest leaf always turns yellow and dies once the new one starts to unfurl. Is that common? Is there anything i should be doing for it?

    It depends on the type of Alocasia. Some of the bigger thicker leaf styles this is just an age thing. They are too young g to support more than one leaf so the cannibalize the oldest to give energy for the nee leaf. In other Alocasia it can be a fertilizer issue. They are heavy feeders so if you are not giving fertilizer weekly during the growing season and monthly of winter they will sacrifice leaves for energy
