Help needed! I didn’t see anything quite like this already in the group… I’m wondering what caused this in my Alocasia Polly? Some yellowing spots at the leaf edges, including a yellow-lined spot. It’s only just started recently. I’d be really surprised if it is overwatered because if anything I water too inconsistently/not enough. Humidity has been in the low 30s over the winter. There’s a good amount of indirect light here. Thanks in advance!
Looks like fungus or bacterial infection. Have you been misting the leaves? That can cause leaf infections.

0개 좋아요 I dont have a lot of experience with it so hopefully some others chime in. I know if it is that, usually removing affected leaves and quarentining is a good start. There are some treatments i believe.

I’ve been having trouble with this same plant. The leaves start yellowing like this at the edges until the whole leaf dies): I’ve tried treating for pests already and the next thing I’m going to try is watering with chlorine free water because that can cause yellowing/crispy edges, so that’s something you could try too if you aren’t already doing that! The perfect yellow circle on yours does make me think bacterial infection in though. Mine might be an infection too so please update us if you find a good solution!

좋아요 1개Just wanted to say I haven’t found a solution… but also I haven’t tried that hard because I’m super busy 😬 The spots eventually did expand and get worse, but it’s pushing out a new leaf right now! I did try to fertilize less because I thought maybe fertilizer burn. I’m really hoping it’s not a disease. I’ll be checking the roots later this week.
0개 좋아요 You have to give these distilled/filtered or rain water. They do NOT like chemicals in their water. That can definatly be part of the issue.

Mine does exactly the same thing! My cuprea LOVES it here, but Polly? Nope. I’m really tempted to use her as my first attempt at leca because I’m at the point where I don’t care if I lose her otherwise! 😂
I put mine in Leca for a bit and it did fine! Seemed to have some transplant shock at first but then went back to normal
