Ok I have a leaf!!! I repeat I have a leaf!! First Alocasia babies I’ve had. What do I do now?? How do I go about moving them? Do I leave them? Help?!

    I like to put them in sphagnum moss in humidity ziploc bags until the roots develop a little more before transferring them to soil/pon (whatever you grow with). Yay! So exciting when corms sprout :)

      I had them in perlite which is what the mama is in!! I just put them back In water! But I’m scared for the leaf to rot. I’m so excited and proud lol

    You wait until the roots have roots before moving them, I think. Amazonicas are more resilient than most but babies are babies. That very first leaf is super fragile and if the conditions are too different too fast they can drop it. Then they focus on root development until it feels right for them to try making a leaf again. Mold and rot in semi hydro is a real issue. Make sure you open your container each day for 15-30mins to refresh the air and check for any issues. It looks like it was happy where you had it though, so I’d just leave it there until it gets a bit bigger. Good luck!
