My newest addition! Any tips or recommendations to help this baby thrive? What’s your favorite growing medium for Alocasias? I feel like I usually see people use pon or leca

    I’m using Leca for my Frydek and a few other Alocasias and they are doing really well

      I just switched my frydek to pon… went straight to pon from soil! Do you do any transition?

      I would recommend a transition depending on the maturity of the plant. Smaller, less mature plants can go directly to semi-hydro easier than mature plants with established roots. My Frydek was small so I went straight to leca and she is doing very well. I tried the same with my established black velvet and micholitziana and they were not happy, lots of root rot and leaf loss. I’m transitioning them now by placing them in nutrient solution and they are growing water roots now and I’m sure will be much happier when I put them into leca in a few weeks.
