Hi everyone ! I’m new Alocasia care! I just bought this one.. the stems are so droopy, I’m trying to keep them up with a moss stick and a tie. Do they get stronger ? Or anything I can do to help it ?

    These guys are tricky but oh so rewarding! I have two of them and love their velvety leaves. Here’s what works for me. I water mine about every 6 to 9 days depending on how dry the soil is. I keep mine in places where there isn’t a lot of wind. I also cut off any stocks that look, yellow or bent. I also use a plexiglass stalk-holder if some of the stalks look like they need support. Don’t get discouraged. The plant in the black pot was nearly dead a few months ago because I overwatered it and had it in a windy area. Some TLC brought her back and then some!

      Agree with all of this. I have one that went from thriving to dropping all leaves in a month. Chopped the dead ones off and kept her, now she’s got two leaves larger than the ones from before. They can be tricky and throw tantrums but are rewarding.

    They can be a little tough to figure out. The stems that have fully flopped won’t come back. You can use a bamboo stick or other stake and tie them as the plant is acclimating. Alocasia can be PEST magnets, so I shower mine monthly. They thrive in hydro set ups. All of mine live in it now. Just got a HUGE leaf out of my Jacklyn 😍
