Hi, so I got this beauty today and I’m very nervous because my last alocasia didn’t make it but I could pass this one up when I found her at my favorite nursery (still shocked I found her at a local nursery)… So any advice would be greatly appreciated also would my plant do better in leca or just keep in a chunky mix? 🤍🌱

All of my alocasias are in a self watering pot. I personally keep them in a plastic one with a water level indicator. It can help boost their humidity to what they want. I put a picture showing my pot from GARDENIX. Many people have found that putting them in Pon or leca is easiest but I haven’t tried it. I keep mine in all purpose soil with extra coco soil and perlite. I’m going to be trying Pon soon with my new Black Diamond🤭 I have found that they sunburn the easiest of all my plants, so rotating and adjusting is key. They can be drama “princesses”. Calatheas are the queens🤭. They are very telling when they’re stressed and will show it on their leaves. The most unique one is they may drop leaves after repotting.
