Ive had her for 3 weeks. The top of the pon is growing white. Should I be concerned? What is the best way to grow?

  1. Nutshell

Pon is a perfect and the easiest way to grow Alocasia. The top layer getting white means the top is dry and that’s fine as long as the water reservoir at the bottom has water in it (assuming you are using a self watering pot). You can have the wick higher in the pon to prevent top half from drying out, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it if the pot is smaller than 6 inches. Another method of growing Alocasia is using moss and leca in a glass vase, saw a lot of videos talking about it and results are pretty good especially for fully matured and sized up ones. I personally have all my healthy and mature and Alocasias in pon, they are all doing great and thriving in there. 10/10
