My first alocasia!! I’m sooo excited to watch her grow! Any tips and/or advice is welcomed. She’s been sitting outside at kroger for a few weeks now. I think i may leave it outside until the weather changes (tell me if thats a bad idea 🤭). I live in Arkansas so it wont cool down until about early late October - early November.
I got the same plant in the same pot, and ended up losing two leaves. The white cover pot is so tight to the black nursery pot that it basically creates a no-drainage scenario. It would guttate like CRAZY if I gave it even a small watering! I’ve removed it from the white pot and placed it on a saucer for now.

1 like I live in New England, so mine is inside…highs in the mid-60s these days already!
1 like I’m jealous if your weather! It hit the mid 60s for the first time yesterday in the mornings, but its about 80+ during the day.

If that’s a batwing allocation, mine is not doing well at all! I got mine at Lowe’s about three weeks ago. But congratulations! I think Alocasia a are my favorite plants.
Its not a batwing. So srry about yours 😞 my favorite plant is the monstera
0 likesAlocasias aren't fond of moves, so don't be surprised if it drops a leaf or two in protest. They like very consistent timing on when you water. I hope she settles in well!
