Please help! I got this Alocasia (I believe it’s a nebula) brand new roughly three weeks ago, I’m very new to plants so it’s in its nursery pot which has drainage, but roughly a week after bringing it home the tips of the leaves started to brown a little, I thought maybe it was just stress or something and I didn’t want to rush into anything. But it’s been a week and a bit now and it has progressed significantly and is now on another leaf too. All my other plants are doing really well and are showing no signs of this same thing so I don’t think it’s a fungus or something. Honestly I’m lost, please if anyone can give me some tips on how to care for it, and try to save it. I water it roughly every week and a bit when the soil goes dry on the top inch or so, I haven’t yet fertilised it since buying, tbh I’m following Planta’s advice with the fertilising, it’s in a south facing window the sunlight doesn’t actually go any higher than that but is in the room all day so I don’t think it’s been burnt and I’ve been misting it daily as I’m thinking it might be humidity as my room is quite dry but the Calathea next to it is thriving giving out big new leaves so idk. Someone please help me try to save it. P.S. I’m kinda broke so was hoping not to have to buy a Humidifier if humidity is the issue but if that’s the case then so be it.

alocasias can be very finicky. it looks like it’s overwatered. this is a very common problem with them. they need chunkier soil so the roots don’t constantly sit in water and rot the plant. i would recommend half soil & half perlite, or more perlite than soil. others have great success in leca as well, i just feel more comfortable with the perlite soil as i’m more familiar and can see the water drain out of the pot so i know it’s not rotting. alocasias like being able to breathe. that leaf won’t recover its vanity but will sprout out a new leaf if you take care of the roots and corm. & be sure no direct sunlight is hitting the leaves because it’ll burn.

Sometimes alocasias act up when you bring them home as they need to get use to their new environment, I have all my alocasias in pon or Fluval stratum

I agree with everything Molly said. Adding to that Alocasias don’t like wet leaves and can cause fungal issues and rot the leaves. To raise humidity use a humidifier instead. I use an aroid soil mix for my Alocasia, here’s a pic
