Can someone tell me which alocasias these are? The stem picture is for the one with the light green leaf. The darker one I know is supposed to be a darker green/burgundy color once matured. Forgot to use Apple photos to identify the darker one because I chopped off its bad leaves, and it can’t identify the lighter one.
The second one is Polly This is an Alocasia ‘Polly’ (sometimes also called Alocasia Amazonica ‘Polly’). It’s a compact hybrid known for those gorgeous, deep green, glossy leaves with striking, bold veins and scalloped edges. Even though the name says “Amazonica,” it’s actually a man-made hybrid, not from the Amazon rainforest. You’re definitely on the right track with the care tips I sent earlier — Alocasias love humidity, warmth, and consistent (but not soggy) moisture!
0개 좋아요 First one Alocasia Frydek (Alocasia micholitziana ‘Frydek’) — or possibly a young Alocasia ‘Regal Shield’. The big giveaways: • Velvety-looking deep green leaves with strong white veins. • Arrow or heart-shaped leaves, but a little softer and rounder than the more dramatic “Polly” style. • Longer stem with a bit of a stretch (they sometimes do that when reaching for light). Because it’s still small, it might develop more clear traits as it grows. Frydeks usually stay smaller and have a fuzzy texture, while Regal Shields get HUGE and their leaves are more leathery.
0개 좋아요 I know the one is not a Polly. I have a Polly and it’s a very distinctly different. This plant has burgundy leaves that stay ovalish in shape no ridges along the sides. Not sure on the frydek, more frydek are variegated from what I’ve seen and the stems are solid green. Not a brownish color with striping.
