Can this be saved??? If so, what’s the best option? Click on picture to see it in full. Back story: it was in a 4 inch pot. I went to check on the roots and most of them just disintegrated into the soil. Root rot, I suppose…

I would say trim as much root off as you can, and stick it in some Fluval stratum, and add some nutrient water.. my Polly’s and regal shields are thriving in only Fluval with purived plant food. I stopped soil in my alocasias cause of the rot

Actually what’s left of the roots looks fine, sorry I hastily commented haha just stick it in some stratum fill with water just under where the roots are.. so it causes the reach for water

I like your suggestion! I think that’s exactly what I’m going to do. What size bowl should I use? And just to be clear, the water needs to be below the roots and not covering the roots, correct?

Yea just below the roots.. I use the dollar tree glass vases, but u could like a 16oz plastic cut as a recovery pot

1 me gustaI see some of the roots are rotten, (the brown/squishy ones) cut those off as it’s root rot

Yes, there was some root rot unfortunately. I will be cleaning up the roots before putting it back into fluval stratum.
