It originally had 3 leaves. Dropped down to one. It was doing great, got a new leaf, and bam! The stem is still firm. Normal alocasia thing?

    It’s cycles. Just stick with it, it’ll stop. Eventually

    These are prone to shocking after a move, so if you move it to a new location, expect a tantrum. It's normal for them to drop one leaf as one new one grows in. If things are going well, the new leaf should grow to be bigger than the one it replaced (or just full size once they reach that point.) If it drops another before new growth happens, then check for root rot (as these do like a lot of water)

    Mine do this after I transplant them too. Are you having success in the self watering container?

      So far, yes. But it's only been a few months. I would say my regal shield is loving it the most. I do let them go serval days to a week after the water is absorbed before refilling. And I clean the inner and outer pot ever couple of months.

      Awesome! I’ve been wanting to try one of those pots on an alocasia but was scared? 😂

      Start with a cheap one! I got one from home depot and it IMMEDIATELY died when I repotted. I cut it back and left it outside in the self watering pot and it came back! It already has 3 leaves. 🙌
