Big Apple Plants

Went to Lowes to look for clear nursery pots and left with this baby and an airplant instead. How often do you guys wait to repot your alocasias? It also came in a self watering, but it has a long root sticking out the bottom of the pot. I’m also curious to see if it has any corms!!

Beautiful plant! 🥰 I typically wait 1 to 2 weeks with any big box plants I get and then repot them in to the soil that suits them best or into Lechuza Pon. The soil that they’re potted in usually isn’t great and the plants are much happier & healthier in a better substrate. Most home environments are kept fairly temperate and if you’re using grow lights, a winter re-pot is fine. The other plus to repotting sooner rather than later is pest control, especially if the soil has been kept too wet. I really hate fungus gnats, lol 😂 I have most of my Alocasias in a chunky aroid mix.
