This guy used to be doing so well but is now down to 2 leaves! It was thriving when I got it over a year ago and grew a few leaves. It now has been stable for the past few months with just these 2 but I’m worried it might die. I keep the soil relatively moist/follow planta’s timeline. I mist it occasionally and even keep a plate of water underneath it to help with humidity. Any suggestions?

Just from what I can see, soil looks like it could use add ins too loosen it up-orchid bark, perlite, etc. Is your moisture tray deep enough that it is touching the soil? If so, place some pebbles or whatever to raise it up. Maybe the soil is staying too moist between waterings. Planta is a guideline and not always correct. Mine dry out about halfway into the soil before I water. Or it could be the plant is being contrary. I had a Polly die back. Few months later, two new leaves.

Possibly try semihydro. I repotted all mine to semi hydro with a wicking reservoir and now have many alocasias adding extra leaves rather than losing one when they add one. There are many YouTube videos , I think sydneyplantguy did one if I remember correctly. All mine are in pon or stratum/perlite mix. It also reduces the need to water so much as well.

Yea like everyone else is saying that soil looks dense and super wet… mine is in very chunky mix with no soil and it’s been doing well! Jacklin is photo bombing her😅
Thanks for all the advice - I have changed the soil to all purpose with some extra perlite! I’ll see how that goes and may buy a diff medium if it doesn’t help :)
