Help! I transferred this Alocasia micholitziana to Lechuza pon a week ago and it’s yellowing/browning, especially the little baby leaves at the base. This is my first alocasia and first experience using pon so any advice would be MUCH appreciated. I’m not sure what a good watering schedule is for this or if I should be using the water reservoir just yet. It’s a lechuza planter. I really want to transition the rest of my plants to pon too and I’m a little intimidated now!! (also, I just moved it away from the window to take photos because it was backlit, she doesn’t live on the floor here)

Unfortunately it’s a completely normal thing to happen when changing substrates. Your plant currently has a root system developed for soil so it may rot quite a bit off to start new. Sometimes I even cut off a lot of root to stimulate new growth. Just leave it be and keep it in the same conditions as before, check and prune rotted roots in a few weeks and it should acclimate soon. Short term it sucks but long term alocasias thrive in semi hydroponics

Best word of advice I could give is make sure the roots don't sit in the water. Let's the planter just barely sit in the water just enough to keep the pon constantly damp. The roots you have now are soil roots which could potentially rot in water. Once the roots grow a bit and down to the water, they will adapt and change to water roots on their own schedule rather than being forced to. I don't have a ton of plants in pon but that is how I always did it and has always worked for me.
