Help! I am just about done with this plant because I have been dealing with a pest problem for several months now. Unfortunately, it’s one of my most favorite plants because it’s so beautiful, but I can’t keep it around because the pests are migrating to my other plants. I will show you a picture of the pest and what I’ve been using to control it. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I really don’t want to get rid of this plant.
Looks like Mealybugs. I saw a couple on a new plant I purchased and read to remove them with a q-tip and 70% alcohol and then spay the plant. I think I sprayed weekly after isolating it but I never saw them again.
4개 좋아요I would suggest doing a little more research or getting other advice as well. This is what worked for me though. I spray all of my plants with alcohol now sometimes with higher than 70% alcohol. I have not seen any pest since those few mealybugs.

Alcohol would work great, but just remember to let the leaves completely dry before you put them under a grow light or let sun on them. And isolation would be a good idea.
3개 좋아요 Ok thank you so much. I’ll definitely give alcohol a try. This is such a glorious plant and when it’s healthy, it’s just absolutely mesmerizing. I really don’t want to lose it.
0개 좋아요Lady bugs!! This is coming from someone who had a mealy bug infestation a few years ago & then a spider mite infestation another year for weeks (spider mites were by far the worst) & I tried literally everything. Isopropyl alcohol, neem oil, systemic stuff, etc. Lady bugs saved all my plants.
