Anyone else having success in water with their Alocasia? I switched to water because I was having trouble with soil, they kept dying on me.

I have transferred two alocasias to leca. The initial switch was hard and my Polly lost a few leaves. Now her roots are very strong and she’s pushing out new growth!

Any tips on using the leca? I never used it before.

Cut the roots off all mine and moved them to leca mar 7th. None lost leaves. Took about a month to start producing new leaves though

I just picked up whatever was at the plant shop in town lol. Just gotta make sure to rinse all the dust and stuff off before you actually put your plants in it. I did normal hydro for a while too and it worked fine. Just uses less water and you have to change it less often with leca.

Yup me as well, I’ve had my best results in water. A lot of people are telling me to try it in leca, so I’ll be doing that next!
