So I have had 2 Alocasias. I feel like each time I’ve tried to clean their leaves it’s caused absolute DEATH to each one. One was a black velvet and the other is a Melo My insecticidal soap: Bronners soap Alcohol Baking soda Hydrogen peroxide Water Are any of these ingredients the issue?? Obviously each ingredient is in moderation. Mostly water. The amount of soap is what it calls for on the bottle which I think is 1 tbsp/ liter. Either way I followed the bottle. Alcohol is about a splash same with peroxide. Baking soda is 1 tsp. Alocasia pros pls let me know what I’m doing wrong or maybe what you do to clean your leaves. Anything helps.

What are the leaves doing / how do they look from being cleaned? Also, how often do you clean them? Personally, I wouldn’t use all 3, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and insecticidal soap combined. I just use 1 at a time and so far my plants have been fine

It could be the baking soda, I’ve never heard of using that ingredient in plant care or your solution may be too strong. Try using a premade solution or as mentioned above use only 1 of those ingredients. I’d try adding a few drops of soap to a spray bottle and fill the rest with water and seeing how your plant responds to that
