Help! My Black Velvet Pink Variagated Alocasia is curling! At first I thought it was forgot to water it or something but the soil was still moist. Can it be too much light? Few other Alocasia started turning their leaves down or on the side. They were doing fine for months and then out of nowhere most of my plants in the grow cabinet started acting weird
I suspect there could be rot setting in? Are you comfortable checking roots? Is this TC or corm grown? How long have you had her? Possible transition shock from 100% humidity?
좋아요 1개 The roots are healthy, it just grew a new leaf too! it’s TC and I had it for 4-6 months.
0개 좋아요 Ah ok, so it’s been transitioned well to your cabinets humidity I assume… maybe try covering it and see if a bump in humidity helps? They can be so finicky!
0개 좋아요 Oh I’m just noticing, Alocasia do the leaf drop game when their corms are still small, this is why the 3 leaf rule is a thing. Each leaf they grow is another layer of the corm. Since a new one is coming in the older is dropping, I just saw that. I wouldn’t be too worried about that. The plant doesn’t have the energy stores to maintain too many leaves yet. Are you fertilizing? How often? Fertilizing can help it maintain more leaves as well as having proper light
좋아요 1개 Oh I didn’t know that. It is a fairly fresh plant 🌱 I mean it healthy and all leaves a firm and strong. It’s that curling that’s weir. I did change my fertiliser recently ( but the problems started before that) so maybe the change just made the current problem worse
