I purchased this Variegated Frydek a little over a month ago. I’ve been watering on the schedule suggested by Planta but it has lost its leaves and these two are paling and getting crunchy. Help please!

Frydeks are so stinking tricky! How often is it telling you to water? The soil looks pretty heavy in these pics but idk if you had just watered it. It’s a fine balance with giving them enough humidity without overwatering. Also, is there a hole in the bottom of the plastic pot? You’ll want a good drainage hole! I have mine in a terracotta pot and even though the soil dries out faster in it, i feel like I can control the moisture a lot easier. I would remove her from this soil and let the roots dry out a bit before repotting in new, loose soil. Best of luck!!
いいね 1件Thank you so much! I did just water her, it’s telling me to water every 14 days and I feel like all of my other alocasia always needed a lot more. I have her in Calloway’s potting mix with osmocote and perlite but I also have leca and sphag if you think that might be a better option for her?

I’m definitely not an expert, but I’ve been growing a frydek corm for a couple months now. Mine lives in a humidity dome, fluval statum instead of soil, and a heat mat on low for good measure (I don’t think it’s necessary but I’m dealing with New England winter)
2件のいいねI think I’ll definitely give mine a humidity dome as well!
いいね 1件I actually found the ones I had that I used for Halloween decor! How perfect 🤣
いいね 1件If it continues to do bad go to Fluval for a bit
