My alocasia silver dragon has passed away after a week long battle to stay alive. I am now the guardian of her 6 babies. Is there any good sites to by an alocasia? I want to re try to keep another one alive

Try and plant her corms into the same soil. Halfway through the summer, my silver dragon prematurely reached the end of her lifecycle due to conditions outside of my direct control, so I planted her corms in the exact same planter (picture here). Plant roots are much like the brain of the organism in a sense, as an old theory of Darwin mentioned. Nowadays we have research showing that roots leave traces of chemical signals throughout the soil. Most are for communication purposes, and linger within the substrate for extended periods of time. Some of these chemicals signals can actually encourage plants of the same species—cuttings, corms, seeds, etc—to prosper. Like a parting gift from a loving mother. They’re some of the most successful organisms on the planet right there with ants and humans, they’ll find a way.
