Hi there! I have a silver dragon alocasia that is starting to show browning on the tips. I’m watering as per the app (but also checking the soil to see if it’s ready). Am I underwatering or overwatering? It’s planted in a nice aroid soil mix. I only have 2 leaves that aren’t brown at the tip.

I think it could be lack of humidity probably 🤷🏽‍♀️

Ahhh…I was wondering about that. I mist every 4 days but it’s not enough. I have a diffuser coming this weekend that I’ll set up near it. Thanks for responding!😊

I water mine with filtered water. It’s having a corm or a bloom. It could be under watering. They don’t like soil too moist but don’t like to dry out completely either. Somewhere in between.

Browning EXCLUSIVELY on the tips is lack of humidity 9/10 times. I’d recommend a digital hygrometer, most alos need 45% - 70%, ideally.

No misting? Really? Why? Should I not be misting my plants at all? I mist with distilled water.

It depends! Succulents and cacti don’t like it as much because of their thick and moisture heavy leaves. BUT tropical plants with thinner leaves typically don’t mind (in my experience!) Everyone has preferences and there is definitely some that are for misting and others against, all with valid reasons! If your plants are fine and healthy with misting I’d say keep doing what you’re doing! But that’s just my opinion🙃

I think it’s most likely humidity.
