I was repotting my Alocasia at the weekend when I noticed it had the death mesh attached to it. Would I better getting rid of it now before it causes too much heartache to the plant?

I removed mine when I got it and then sprayed down with neem oil. A few days later all the leaves died. So not sure if I aggravated her when removing the mesh or if I sprayed to much neem. I hope yours does much better 🤞🏽
0 LikesI know I don’t want to leave it only for my plant to struggle so not sure what to do
2 LikesRemove it. Rinse the roots with hydrogen peroxide if you are concerned about damaged roots and bacterial infections.

Yep, it’s really important to remove those. I removed one from my alocasia back in February and it’s doing great now. If you get lucky, you might even find some corms to propagate :)
1 LikeShould I check the rest of my plants bought from the same place or would it just be my Alocasias?
0 LikesIt’s a very common thing for most houseplants to come with, so you’ll likely find a few more.
