I’m reporting my Polly with arid soil and noticed this attached to the roots. I can’t tell if it’s man made or if should leave it alone?

    It’s what nurseries use to grow plants in, and can cause your plant issues as it gets older. It’s best to carefully remove it, good luck!

      Yea the leaves started to droop eventhough I was watering it well and giving it enough sunlight

    Man made. It’s a mesh plug from the nursery when then plant was first grown. I recommend removing it very carefully. You Polly has done well growing around it, but I’ve had plants where the roots get trapped in the plug and end up rotting and killing the plant

      Thank you! Actually that’s what caused me to repot! I was losing leaves all of a sudden. So hopefully that’ll heal it

      Chances are good in my opinion! I have Chinese evergreens that I didn’t repot for like a year after I bought them. Same thing started happening like you’re describing where care was good but the plants were looking sad. Turned out they both had hard plastic meshes! It’s was a nightmare cutting that kind off, but the plants recovered and are so happy now!
