HELP! My silver dragon has inflorescences and I’m not sure what to do. I tried looking up different videos on pollination but they all are on different Alocasia and the inflorescence look different. This is the only Alocasia I have. Should I try to save the pollen and freeze it until I have another Alocasia. Or can I pollinate the same plant? It also looks like there is a second one about to be exposed right under the one already bloomed.

So the main thing to know is, it’s not a big deal, if you want to reproduce this plant the corms in your soil are an excellent way to reproduce them. Furthermore, alocasia are monoecious meaning they have all the reproductive parts needed to reproduce on their own. If you’re really into making hybrids you could save the pollen.. but you don’t even have a second one picked out yet, no rush. But seriously the corms, if you want a couple more of the same alocasia pull them out and plant them seperately. Good job, not every alocasia owner sees them flower.

Thank you! I actually found 8 corms the other day and have them in a perlite prop box, so I’m hoping they root well. I might try to save the pollen because I do have a couple Alocasia I want to get soon, and don’t really need the pollen to make another silver dragon. Thank you for the help!
