My Alocasia Frydek is pretty droopy a couple weeks after purchasing… should I be concerned?

Is it quite cold in the room it is in? Alocasia’s can go dormant during the winter due to the lack of light and warmth and can lose leaves. To help it less droopy make a pebble tray/use a humidifier/mist it twice a week, you can also use sticks to hold up the leaves

Hm, what’s the soil like? Is it airy? Or is it compact, also what’s the watering schedule like

Soil’s pretty airy. Watering every 8th day, per Planta. I am wondering if I have it placed in too sunny a spot. I may try moving it and see if it perks up a bit.

Don’t follow Plantas watering schedule is usually inaccurate, get a cocktail stick or a chop stick and leave it in the soil and pull it out every so often to if soil is dry or not, it may be wilting because it’s not being watered enough, also when you water do you water until water is coming out of drainage holes? Or not and does the pot have drainage holes?

I water until the water runs out the bottom. Love the chopstick idea - will do that.

Alocasias are very particular about moisture and watering levels You can also try a moisture meter but definitely do not go by a watering schedule
