A couple months ago I repotted my alocasia amazonica thinking she wouldn’t grow because the dirt was too heavy, which I was correct in thinking. I pulled off a smaller leaf that had its own root system and it sprouted a second leaf! All 22 corms got moldy while trying to propagate them so I threw all but one of them out. Two months of being in dirt the corm sprouted! Now my parent alocasia has the first leaf sprout it’s ever had in the six months I’ve had her! I’m so excited! 🤩🤩🤩

    This gives me hope! I’ve been waiting for over a month for my corms to grow. A couple are starting to grow little roots but I feel like it’s taking a while so I’m worried about them rotting. I have them in sphagnum moss

    Yay I love that! I wish I hadn’t thrown all of mine out. They were moldy and dark from being I. Damp sphagnum moss but I decided to plant one to see and if I had planted all of them I might’ve had more success! I think this alocasia might be a slow grower. Either that or i haven’t fully convinced mine to love me yet. 😂
