I just got this stunning, enormous Alocasia! The previous owner wasn’t sure whether it’s a ‘Dawn’ or a ‘Batik,’ and the plant ID apps haven’t been much help. Can anyone tell me which one it is?

    Alocasia odora batik Variegata was was ai came up with but color pattern slightly wrong. Bit of a search and found same leaves and colours as yours and says it’s Macrorrhiza Vaiegated

      I used at least seven different apps and googled for an hour lol. Several of the scanning apps said Macrorrhiza Variegated. I do not believe that to be correct though because the leaves do not point upwards like a Macrorrhiza is suppose to. I believe it to be one of the two I mentioned, I’m just not sure which as they look very similar. I also thought the variegation pattern was slightly off from the Batik, so I’m guessing it’s likely a Dawn.

    Looking at the plant listed, one of its leaves has same distinct darker color like yours. Only difference is yours is not as white as the one I listed below. Poss not macrorrhiza then as not pointing up. There’s just so many versions, ever way I don’t expected there is a lot of difference in light and water requirements Dwarf Elephant Ear 'Albovariegata' Alocasia gageana 'Albovariegata'

    Dawn is a bigger plant growing up to 5 feet as the batik stays around 3 that's what ive heard at least

      Ah okay! This guy is about 3-4ft and only a year old.
