Alocasia Polly was my first, and so far my easiest!

Commenting because I’m curious too! I have a xanthosoma that’s doing pretty alright but that’s the most adventurous I’ve gotten with the genus.

I started with colocasia before dipping my toe in alocasias. I think they’re very similar, but colocasia seem a tad more forgiving. And often cheaper. In the spring I usually see a few different kinds of colocasia/elephant ear dry bulbs at Lowe’s for like $6-12. There’s even a mammoth variety that’s probably way too much plant for most people 😂 My friend got one once and I swear you could practically see it growing. It would be a 3” sprout in the morning and 6” by the evening! By the peak of summer, it was practically the size of a table umbrella

The smaller ones can grow inside! The mammoth one is just so big lol. But if you don’t live somewhere they can be outdoors year-round, you could enjoy it in the summer and store it as a dry bulb again in the winter. They seem to like semi-chunky soil so they can stay moist without suffocating the roots

Pink dragon! My mom and I both have them and they love life
0 J'aimeI feel most are pretty easy as long as you give them adequate lighting, let the soil dry out between waterings, have them in a nice airy soil mix, most will do well with less humidity after they acclimate to your home, just make sure they aren’t next to a heater or a drafty area and I think you’ll be fine :)
