Should I repot my alocasia? I am going to the plant store in two days and want to know if I should get a new pot for it. Thanks!

    I think I would if it were mine, but I’ve never owned an alocasia 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Repot when the roots occupy more space than the soil. This is not ready for a repot. Upsizing now could lead to problems such as overwatering and root rot when the plant can’t use up all the water in the soil before the roots start to rot. Use a pot only 1 inch wider when it’s time to repot. Roots sticking out the bottom is not a sign it needs repotting. Those could be drink straws to the excess water in the drainage saucer. Regularly emptying the drainage saucer will stop the drink straw roots from growing out of the pot. 🪴🍀
