went back for the alocasia I saw at my local plant shop🤍 but what is the white residue on the tops of the leaves? my ficus from the shop has the same situation — almost looks like soap scum?

    to me it looks like calcium buildup from being sprayed with hard water

      thank you! I wiped them off w my microfiber gloves and it seemed to help. I use distilled water w/ my plants, so hopefully it won’t come back

    Must be something in the air…and I don’t mean what’s causing the spots on your leaves. I just picked up an Alocasia ‘Polly’ today too! LOL! They’re probably cousins! 😉
